Hi Guys

12 units - 19-36

2 units on the street from 1 to 13

1 unit on zero.

PROBLEM is at 16, 17, 18

i dont wanna be greedy and win a lot at a time. looking for a system that grantees 1 or 0.5 units no matter what.
at the moment i win 1 unit every spin besides when it lands on 16 17 18 where i loose 23 units

Any suggestions or systems ?

Hi Sasho,
you are risking 23 chips to win 1. With a win rate in 37 spins of 46 against 69 loses. That’s 2/3. You can make an immediate improvement by betting the three sixlines,19-24,25-30,31-36. 2 chips each. You can then bet the 5 streets with 1 chip. Your risk has been reduced to 11(less than 1/2) and despite now having 4 Nos against you the win rate has improved to 33/44, 3/4.
More important you must create a moving target by varying between high and low and the 5 streets that you use. By careful choice of the Nos you don’t bet you can improve your win rate substantially.
Unfortunately there are no guarantees, you are gambling and there are always uncertainties.  By the way where do you play? Are you on the Reef?

  Regards     Harry

Hi Harry

Thanks a lot for your reply. Sorry about getting back to you way way late. What is your personal method that you use when playing roulette.

Hi Sasho,
I play “lines’ (double streets). I do not use the same method all the time. Sometimes I bet DS singly(odds 5/10 or in pairs(odds 2/1) or in 3’s(odds 1/1). This allows me to play inside. Which is cheaper than playing outside.

I use short progressions, based on the odds. EG. 1/1 only 2 or 3 steps. 2/1 5 steps. 5/1 9-12 steps. I base my target selection on statistics drawn from previous play. I try to find a “winning range” and restrict my bets to stay within that range.  If their is no hit within the range I stop and look for another target, which I bet at a slightly higher level.

The principle is that while unusual results can happen, they don’t consistently happen back to back.

In your 1st post you mentioned South Africa. Where are you living ?  I am in the northern part of Germiston, on the ridge overlooking Bedford View and Edenvale. Quite close to Emperor’s Palace.

Hi VB , nice to hear from you.  I have not decided to stay but the decision is being forced on me. Since the decision to emigrate was made our highly efficient bureaucracy have caused delays of some 18 months, during which time the exchange rate has gone from around R15 to the pound to over R25. My son is obviously reluctant to move his family with insufficient funds. So the move has been delayed ‘sine die’

I will probably visit my son in the UK this coming summer and decide then whether to live with the family in SA, or the one in the UK. In the meantime I am used to life here and the dangers of highjacking, house invasions, with murder and torture. Shootouts in the local Mall etc.

It’s surprising what you can get used to.

Harry,

I completely respect anyone that has the nerve to migrate from a different part of the world.  You are very brave.  People that have the inner strength and motivation to do so tend to be smarter than the average population.  No joke!

I’m impressed.

If you’re ever in the US you have free room and meals at my house or in Las Vegas when I’m there.

(Now I must return to somehow criticizing your systems in some way.  wink  hehehe

Sincerely,

Houston

Hi VB,
as I said it is surprising what you can get used to. Many of my personal experiences would be considered fiction in Europe or the States. The trick is not to appear rich, or an easy target and to stay alert. I told Palestis where I lived and he found a picture of my house on Google. He asked me why all the houses looked like fortresses with high wall and strong gate and even barbed wire. We don’t even notice !!
Apart from imported goods living is quite cheap and the weather is usually great.

Hi Houston,
I was born in the UK and only came to South Africa when I was 16. So I have emigrated before, although it was over 60 years ago.  I like SA, it’s a good life if you avoid getting killed. It is not like the middle east. More like in the projects or barrios with black and latino gangs. If you stay on the main roads and avoid dark corners you are OK. If you are mugged or highjacked just co-operate quickly and quietly, no point in being killed for cursing. Personally I drive a 30 year old car, that looks as if it would fall apart if you tried to start the engine. I wear no personal jewellery, not even a watch. My cell phone cost the equivalent of about $5 or $6.  I carry no more than a couple of dollars cash. What else are cards for ?  In other words don’t look or act like a target.  Otherwise life is great.

As far as the forums go. I seem to remember when I first joined I made it plain that I enjoyed and welcomed robust debate, but gratuitous insults would be repaid in kind. I have no cause to complain I hope that you can say the same. Life would be dull if we all agreed !!

      Regards,
                Harry

LOL Sounds like a sense of humor is a requirement.

If you have kept up on the latest doings here in the U.S. you should realize that you’d feel right at home in San Bernardino, California, or Chicago, Illinois.  (Of course in Chicago it’s the police you have to watch out for.)  I hear Paris can keep one’s interest as well, and the exchange rate, 17 Rand to the Euro, is more favorable.  (Our’s is even more favorable BTW: 15 Rand to the US dollar.)

In any event, sorry to hear your escape…I mean emigration has been delayed.  Maybe next year? wink

Hi Midnight,
Yesterday I wrote a long post to you. With all the interruptions I must have taken too long. When I hit post it seems to have disappeared.  18 months ago I could have bought a pound for what I must now pay for a dollar. If it were just a personal choice the difference would not have bothered me. My son has a family, and the rules for the entry of family members are strict. Even if he did find work quickly his family might not be allowed in. He does not feel like being separated from then for for the time it might take for him to be able to import them.
I will probably visit my son in the UK, and find out what the position really is.

Keep well and have a great year,
                                          Harry
